All things botanical, in a solo exhibition from Peter Griffiths.Visit site
Beneath the many artists and makers working away in its studios, Yorkshire Artspace has opened up its gallery in recent months with a string of exhibitions, residencies and workshops. Up next is artist Peter Griffiths, with solo exhibition The Plant Room.
Peter Griffiths has spent the summer visiting three community gardens – Parson Cross Community Gardens, Meersbrook Community Walled Garden and Sheffield Botanical Gardens – taking photos and gathering inspiration. After familiarising himself with the gardens' plants, flowers, fruit trees, and even the weeds, Peter has made a series of botanical screen prints for The Plant Room.
Alongside Peter's artwork, there'll be workshops in creative screen printing and jacquard machine knitting, where you can create your own prints and patterned items to add to the exhibition, as well as an artist's talk and a plant sale/swap.
Find out more about Peter in our Meet the Locals Q&A.
Exhibition open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-5pm.
