Sheffield Beer Week 2018 kicks off on 12 March, marking seven packed days of unique beer tastings, tap takeovers, meet the brewer sessions, brewery tours, exhibitions, and food matching menus. The beer will flow like wine.
Like many of the best ideas, the first Sheffield Beer Week in 2015 started as a "why not?" Julia Gray is at the helm, who'll be familiar to many drinkers in Sheffield as she – along with Beer Central, Walkley Beer Co., Starmore Boss and a handful of the more adventurous pubs – has been broadening beer fans’ palettes, both in her shop, Hop Hideout, and as a key organiser of beer related events in the city.
Julia has encouraged local pubs, booze shops and breweries to get excited and do something special for Sheffield Beer Week, to really show off the very best of Sheffield's beer scene and underlining its status as a beer city. Key strands running through the 2018 Sheffield Beer Week will include a celebration of women working in the beer industry, beer ingredient hubs, a partnership with Norwich City of Ale, and a Yorkshire beer photography trail.
For the first time, this year's Beer Week will kick off the Saturday before with Indie Beer Feast. On 10 March, head to the iconic Abbeydale Picture House to sip on great beer from the likes of Abbeydale Brewery, Magic Rock, Kirkstall Brewery, Sierra Nevada and more, and to tuck into tasty street food.
