It’s 1989. Manchester. A frenzy of drugs, beats and bucket hats. Illegal raves. Acid parties. Just jumping up and down in a field and throwing two fingers to Thatcher… Remember it? Because we don’t. We weren’t even born. But Ian was. And Ian does remember. We’ve got f*ck all now (Ian tells us). So, we’re going back to 1989. We’re gonna neck a brown biscuit. We’re gonna get off our peanuts. We’re gonna bounce around like idiots. And Ian’s going to show us how. We’re mad fer it. And you will be too. Let’s party.

Using anecdotes from their 46-year-old friend Ian, Nora, Dora and Kat of theatre company In Bed With My Brother create a multimedia show bringing together clowning, dance routines and lip-syncing – all scored by Ian’s favourite tracks from the late 80s/early 90s. We Are Ian was an award-winning hit at the Edinburgh Fringe, with The List writing: "this is a requiem for a dream, for a time when youth culture could frighten the government by the way it danced."

We Are Ian will be part of the opening night in the shiny new Theatre Deli space. Earlier in the evening will be Tomorrow's Parties, while there'll also be DJ sets – launching an incredible autumn season in style.
