Dedicated to contemporary art in all its forms, we are incredibly fond of Site Gallery here at OFP. Exhibitions are always thought-provoking and immersive, often fun and interactive, and they tend to keep us coming back time and again throughout their run.

The Site programme includes both renowned and emerging international artists, often who are exhibiting in the UK for the first time. Its reading groups, talks and screenings are a great way of getting even more stuck in to the ideas explored by each exhibition. And its annual residency season offers the rare chance to nosey in on contemporary art in the making.

The Site shop is filled with art books and smashing Sheffield-made gifts, and is one of the best places in the city to pick up independent magazines. Site's lovely cafe, meanwhile, is the only place we know of where you can sit back with a cup of tea and read a book personally recommended by Jarvis Cocker; its X Libris bookshelf stocks donations and written recommendations courtesy of creative folk from Sheffield.

It's close to the station, a few doors along from the Showroom and just down the hill from the Graves and Millennium galleries. It's also conveniently located for both a bhaji butty at the Rutland and a coffee at Tamper at Sellers Wheel

Site Gallery is a must-see for all art fans.

UPDATE: Site is currently closed for exciting expansion work. Support the #BuildingSite campaign to help the gallery raise the final funds for its refurbishment – donate now.
