Sheffield DocFest picks

Each spring, the world of documentary filmmaking gathers for Sheffield DocFest.

DocFest is the UK’s leading documentary festival and one of the world’s most influential markets for non-fiction projects. The festival returns for its 30th edition on 14–19 June 2023 with the theme Sparking Curiosity.

Over six days, the programme presents films under six strands: Rhythms, Debates, People & Community, Memories, Rebellions and Journeys, as well as this year’s Perspectives on Iran. Many will also be available to watch online. Alongside that is the Alternate Realities VR and AI exhibition at Site Gallery. Plus there'll be a comprehensive programme of talks with special guests including actors, TV historians, producers, directors, activists, competition swimmers and X-Factor winners.

Public tickets are on sale for individual screenings. Concessionary prices apply for claimants, students and over 60s, while DocsForAll discount tickets are available for certain weekday screenings. If you’re planning on fitting in a few films, a DocLover ticket package will save you money. And complimentary tickets are available for personal assistants, carers and sign language interpreters.
