Save the NVM!
Due to its closure during the coronavirus pandemic, the NVM's existence is under threat. It's a truly unique place – the UK’s only museum dedicated to videogames, one of the world's leading institutions in the field, and with an ambitious and engaging programme of activity. We are very lucky to have it in Sheffield. If you can, please support the museum's emergency fundraising appeal. Click here to make a donation.
"You can find music, if you choose to listen, in almost anything." In 2013 sound recordist Chris Watson created an incredible, immersive soundscape at Millennium Gallery. Now he's turned it into a stereo experience for Museums Sheffield from Home.
In 2014 the National Portrait Gallery brought to town portraits of the likes of Benjamin Zephaniah, Simon Armitage and Carol Ann Duffy. Alongside the exhibition, Museums Sheffield and Word Life hosted performances by the city's own literary talents.
