Somewhere in Europe, mid-20th century, Albert is employed to look after Mia, a girl with teeth of ice. Mia never leaves their apartment, where the shutters are always closed. The telephone rings regularly, and the Master enquires after Mia’s well-being. Until the day Albert is instructed that he must prepare the child to leave, and Mia begins to change.
An adaptation of British artist Brian Catling's 2019 novel of the same name, Earwig is a mysterious and mesmerising fable of long-repressed secrets and awakening memories from French director Lucile Hadzihalilovic, making her debut feature in the English language.
