Yorkshire Artspace present Hidden Depths, a series of more than 30 portraits by photographer Laura Page. The images and their accompanying stories capture people aged 80+ from across the UK, aiming to show ageing in a positive light and defy stereotypes of what it is to be older. Among them are 85-year-old Jean Woods, a fashionista turned Instagram model with almost 20,000 followers eager to see her outfit of the day.
As well as the exhibition at Yorkshire Artspace's Persistence Works, there'll be a second exhibition at Sheffield Hallam University's Lab4Living White Building on Fitzalan Square. The White Building's showcase will feature a series of short films alongside images made during community workshops. The workshops encouraged people from local communities, including the Roshni BME Elders group, to reimagine the ageing process and how they see themselves.
