One for synth obsessives – Synthfest is an annual gathering of the biggest range of synthesisers in the UK.
Over 60 companies will be exhibiting at the event, ranging from the boutique Eurorack Modular brands to major keyboard brands, plus a range of soft-synth and virtual instrument developers. There'll also be a modular meet-up and a programme of talks on the day.
Synthfest 2023 talks include Lydia Kavina, who was taught by inventor Leon Theremin himself – with a prize draw for a Moog Theremini. Sound On Sound podcaster and journalist Rob Puricelli and FM programmer Dr. Manny Fernandez will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the game-changing Yamaha DX7. And the MIDI Association will fly in from the USA to showcase some of the interesting, weird and highly innovative hardware and software instruments from this year's MIDI Innovation Award.
