Catch the train to Barnsley, the birthplace of Harry Leslie Smith, for a special conversation with his son John Leslie Smith.
Harry Leslie Smith (1923-2018) was a second world war RAF veteran and writer, who went on in later life to be a campaigner and passionate critic of austerity. His final book, Harry’s Last Stand, was a bestselling and powerful call for the preservation of the progress that he'd witnessed in his lifetime, such as the establishment of the NHS, as it comes under threat from cuts and neglect.
His son John will be in conversation with LEP Board Member and Doctoral Researcher Laura IH Bennett to discuss the life, works and legacy of his father.
