Artists David Orme and Joanna Whittle collaborate in this exhibition at Artcade gallery in The Forum, showcasing new work and experimental projects.
The exhibition will bring together undercurrents in the work of both artists which explore ideas of collection, display and acquisition. The Mitre Owl represents a collection of objects and original artworks by Orme and Whittle as well as artefacts and items from their own treasuries. The exhibition will be part shop front, part assemblage and part physical inventory, and will represent a small corner of a much wider and quite possibly fictional archive.
The exhibition will reveal points of collaboration between Orme and Whittle including a limited edition enamel pin and new riso prints.. New paintings and ceramics from Whittle will sit alongside Orme’s ceramic works and collages, along with other artworks from the collection including contributions from Sara Trillo, Richard Perry and Catherine Fisher.
