The idea of a ‘Universal Basic Income’ has gone from being largely unknown to being regularly mentioned by every political party in the UK in the last year.

There are all manner of opinions for how it would work, who it would help and how much it would cost – but what is it like to actually receive a basic income?

Join Festival of Debate for a discussion with recipients of the Stockton Basic Income Pilot about their experiences of receiving a UBI for two years, hosted by the Californian Mayor Michael Tubbs, who instigated the programme to explore how it might help the people in his city.
