The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Join us for Kids to the Front, an interactive, inclusive live band experience for families, presented by Crescendorious in collaboration with RivelinCo.

Whilst touring across the universe, the aliens of The Boogie Woogie Space Junk Band crash-land in North Sheffield! They're keen to discover where they are and find their trusty supersonic space pig, Brian. Only the kids have the energy, uniqueness and magic needed to propel the Space Junk Band's debut electro-punk album into the stratosphere!

Created by acclaimed theatre-makers Brigitte Aphrodite and Quiet Boy, Kids to the Front is an electrifying gig-theatre adventure packed with live music, audience participation, creativity and fun. Every version of the show is shaped by the community it visits, with themes, songs and ideas inspired by local children. (Ahead of the performances, Crescendorious and RivelinCo will be running two creative workshops across North Sheffield and ideas developed through these sessions will help inspire the aliens' adventure when they arrive!)

Before each performance, families can also enjoy free creative activities inspired by the show, provided by RivelinCo.

The show is particularly recommended for children aged 0–7 and their families, but all ages are welcome to join the adventure.

Please bring your own chairs, blankets or picnic rugs for seating. You're welcome to bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it!

Tickets are pay what you can, with donations helping us continue to provide creative opportunities for communities across North Sheffield.

A limited number of free places, including a packed lunch, are available for children eligible for free school meals through the Sheffield Healthy Holidays programme. These can be booked via sheffieldhealthyholidays.org.

Get ready for live music, outer-space silliness, punk with empathy, and a family adventure that's completely unique to North Sheffield!
