Summer Wars

Kenji works part-time as a moderator for OZ, the online virtual world connected to everyday life.

One day, Kenji suddenly finds that a rogue AI has stolen his online identity, and he is now accused of hacking OZ and causing real-world catastrophes.

With online profiles linked to every aspect of life – transport, banking, tele-communication – where reality and the online world co-exist, the destruction of OZ threatens an impending cyber apocalypse with severe real-life consequences.

Presenting a not-so-distant future where reality and the online world exist as one, acclaimed director Mamoru Hosoda (Belle, The Boy and the Beast) delivers a thrilling story exploring life in the digital age.
