The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

After seven sold-out events since their launch in April 2022, Skyline returns on bank holiday Sunday this August. Join them for a day and night festival across four stages at Sheffield's FØRGE and Southbank Warehouse.

Skyline will showcase a range of musical genres across its four stages, from tech-house and disco to RnB and garage. The vast majority of the lineup is composed of local DJs and artists, with the goal of promoting the best up-and-coming talent the Steel City has to offer.

The lineup includes Brad Wood, Finn Eden and Gruvee, who have been drawing serious attention in the electronic scene with their recent tracks. After a surprise appearance at the last event though from TikTok sensation TeeDee, Skyline customers have been accustomed to late headliner announcements.

They’re bringing in ex-Gatecrasher lighting techs to take the production to a whole new level, including stunning laser shows, pyrotechnics and confetti airbursts. Working alongside Sheffield based audio team Raze Sound System, they’ll also be upgrading the sound with the cutting edge Danley system which has appeared at countless major UK festivals already this year.

Organisers Phil McCue and Simon Tomlinson have been working alongside women in the night-time economy to devise customer experience and welfare policies to ensure everybody feels welcome at the event. After a successful trial of a fast-response mobile number where customers can report incidences of harassment or safety concerns, they’re pleased to now be rolling the policy out at all events. In partnership with the Sheffield City Centre License Watch committee, this will now be trialled across numerous venues in the city centre.
