The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Talk to Me

When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, the new thrill becomes the latest local party craze. Looking for a distraction on the anniversary of her mother’s death, teenager Mia (Sophie Wilde) is determined to get a piece of the otherworldly action. But when her friends gather for another séance with the mysterious embalmed hand that promises a direct line to the spirits, they’re unprepared for the consequences of bending the rules through prolonged contact.

As the boundary between worlds collapses and disturbing supernatural visions increasingly haunt Mia, she rushes to undo the horrific damage before it’s irreversible.

Filmmaking duo (and twin brothers) Danny and Michael Philippou suspend us in a nightmarish realm for their debut feature, blending the atmosphere of a ghost tale with the modern sensibilities of a horror-thriller for today's generation, Talk to Me presents a reality where the dead roam alongside the living.
