The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

American Fiction

A frustrated novelist, tired of the establishment profiting from "Black" entertainment that relies on offensive tropes, sets out to prove a point with a new outlandish "Black" book of his own – but this book propels him to the heart of the hypocrisy and madness he claims to disdain.

Based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett, American Fiction stars Jeffrey Wright (The Batman, Asteroid City, No Time to Die) in an Oscar-nominated performance, confronting how the broadness of "culture" gets reduced to cliché.
