The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Join practising artist and professional tutor Donna Brewins-Cook for a specialist still life drawing class hosted online.

This workshop embraces a mindful drawing session to help you find stillness and calm and enjoy an evening developing your drawing skills. You’ll learn about still life artworks in the collection and look at how different artists have approached this timeless subject.

This is a relaxed and friendly drawing workshop where all are welcome, from the more experienced artists to absolute beginners. You’ll learn as a small group, getting constructive advice throughout and direct feedback on your drawings.

As it’s an online class, you’ll need to provide your own materials – all you'll really need is a pencil or pen and paper, although you may wish to use charcoals, pastels or coloured pencils.

You'll look at a different subject matter each week, based on items you'll likely have around the house. Bring something you find interesting to draw, with a reasonable amount of detail.

Each week is a stand-alone drawing class but join regularly and really see your drawing improve.

The workshop will take place over Zoom. Sign up via Eventbrite and you will be sent the joining link and further instructions.
