An adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 semi-autobiographical book The Price of Salt, Carol is a journey through sexuality and emotions.

A film that transcends the typical love-at-first-sight story by incorporating real life complexities, with standout performances from Cate Blanchett (Nightmare Alley, Tar, The Lord of the Rings) and Rooney Mara (Nightmare Alley, A Ghost Story, Women Talking), as two women who meet at a Manhattan department store, and unexpectedly feel an instant attraction.

Shifting through infatuation, desire, lust and adoration, the dynamic of their relationship transforms just as outside consequences gradually take hold.
