In Brief Encounter (1945), housewife Laura Jesson (Celia Johnson) meets Dr. Alec Harvey (Trevor Howard) in a cafe at a railway station.
They continue to meet every Thursday in the small cafe, and their casual friendship soon develops during their weekly visits into something more emotionally fulfilling than either expected, and they must wrestle with the potential havoc their deepening relationship would have on their lives and the lives of those they love.
The licensed cafe bar will be open throughout selling drinks and snacks.
Proceeds from this fundraising event go to SGCT to help with work looking after Sheffield General Cemetery and the two Grade II listed buildings, and to inform and educate about the history of this unique green space.
