To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Prefab Sprout’s landmark album Steve McQueen, founding member Martin McAloon will be performing the record in its entirety.
Widely hailed as one of the defining releases of the 1980s, Steve McQueen was described by Pitchfork as “the defining record of 1985 sophisto-pop.” Blending sharp songwriting and lush arrangements, the album became a cornerstone of the post-punk and new-wave movements. Since its release, it has sold millions of copies worldwide, influenced generations of musicians, and consistently featured on “must-hear before you die” album lists.
Alongside performing Steve McQueen from start to finish, Martin will perform other fan favourites and deep cuts from across Prefab Sprout’s celebrated back catalogue.
