Martin Simpson and Andy Cutting are two of the British folk scene’s most esteemed performers. Having collaborated together before on their 2015 album Murmurs with Nancy Kerr, they’re back to provide an intimate evening of finger picked guitar and melodeon in the grand surroundings of Firth Hall.
40 years after he recorded his first album, Golden Vanity, in 1976, singer and virtuoso guitarist Martin Simpson is one of the most well-regarded and decorated folk musicians around, having received the most nominations of any performer in the 18 years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Andy Cutting has written tunes many consider to be contemporary classics of the folk scene. Having won best musician at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 3 times, he is a soulful and technically outstanding performer.
