21-year-old Mariana belongs to a repressive patriarchal Christian sect, a world where she must do her utmost to keep up the appearance of a perfect woman. In order to resist temptation, she and her girlfriends try their best to control everything and everyone around them – and that includes the town sinners.
At night, their girl squad put on masks and become a brutal vigilante gang, mercilessly prowling the city for women they deem to be sinners. But when deadly tensions emerge between Mariana and her sisters, the urge to scream will be stronger than it ever has been.
An electrifying assault on the senses from writer-director Anita Rocha de Silveira, Medusa is a nightmarish, genre-bending psychological thriller inspired by the work of David Lynch and Dario Argento.
