In a near-future London, the gap between rich and poor has reached extreme levels, and all social housing has been abolished except for "The Kitchen" -
Following Izi, a solitary resident counting down the days until he can leave the estate he grew up on – and move to one of the sleek luxury penthouses that are popping up all over London – as his world collides with Benji, who is searching for a family after losing his mother.
As the wider community refuses to leave their home, despite the oppressive system, together they navigate a system stacked against them, struggling to forge a relationship in an unjust society.
A suspenseful crime drama and a heartfelt rally against gentrification, The Kitchen is an intimate story about community and relationships, set on a grand canvas of dystopian London, directed and co-written by Kibwe Tavares, and Daniel Kaluuya (star of Get Out, and Nope).
