Hand on the Tap presents Without Malice or Ill Will.
It is 2019. Geoff Marsh is a retired police officer. He has been invited to the Winton Community Centre to deliver a talk entitled A Policeman’s Lot. It could be a talk about his career, scattered with useful hints and tips on crime prevention and road safety. Instead, Geoff delivers an often funny, dramatic and moving monologue.
It’s the story of how he became a miner at the age of sixteen, how he became a lover, a husband and then a father. Then, we hear of the decision that altered his career and of the momentous year that changed his life, his family and his community forever.
The play was nominated for Best Theatre Production and Ray Castleton as Geoff won Best Male Actor Award at the Buxton Festival Fringe 2019.
This performance is dedicated to the memory of David Marshall (25 May 1940 to 12 June 2020).
