Barry Starmore and Jefferson Boss are experts when it comes to booze; they can tell you the perfect wine to suit any meal, the strength and flavour of a range of craft beers, the subtle differences between various ages of malt whiskies.

From their lovely shop on Sharrow Vale Road, the duo share their boozy knowledge with the rest of us. The shop's shelves are lined from floor to ceiling with the finest of wines, premium rums and vodkas, gins with names like Death's Door, and the most distinctive of ales brewed both locally and internationally.

Situated on Sharrow Vale Road, one of our favourite places in the city for the potter, Starmore Boss is well placed to pick up a perfect bottle of plonk after a day's browsing in the nearby shops, or after a long lazy day in Ecclesall Park.

For a little tipple of some of Starmore Boss's expertly chosen wines and spirits, look out for tasting evenings in the shop and in some of the best bars across the city.
