The Red Deer

The Red Deer, 18 Pitt Street, S1 4DD

Open Monday-Thursday 12pm-12am, Friday-Saturday 12pm-1am, Sunday 12-11pm

Just off from West Street's busy row of bars, the Red Deer is surprisingly calm. The pub's right next to Sheffield Uni, so its cask beers and regular comedy nights are popular with students and academics. Its food menu, meanwhile, is a particular hit with vegans.

Austrian artist Frau Isa came to town for the Feature Walls street art festival in 2016, leaving behind an alluring and quietly arresting portrait of a bookish girl and her dog on the side of the Red Deer – which is why this excellent pub is one of the stops on our street art pub crawl.
