Formed in London and fronted by charismatic Nigerian singer Eno Williams, Ibibo Sound Machine is a fusion of disco, post-punk, electro and the golden age of West African highlife music. The Guardian said they create “euphoric, high-energy soundscapes that feel borderless.”
Their fifth album, Pull the Rope, released last year and recorded with Sheffield’s own Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A), was a record made for night clubs; full of driving synths and funky basslines, spreading their message of positivity and interconnectedness.
Known for their high-energy live performances, it might be a good idea to fuel up before the show.
