Open Mic Night is Utopia Theatre’s platform for celebrating talent and creativity in Sheffield.
The free monthly event is a golden opportunity for both upcoming and established creatives to share their art with a supportive and enthusiastic audience.
Expect Sunday evening sessions of inspiration and creativity in Utopia's vibrant inclusive space.
Their upgraded bar, artist exhibition and artist spotlights have been a roaring success over the last few months. Let the creativity and the drinks flow, with their selection of cold beers, wines and soft drinks to choose from.
Utopia is keen to ensure that creatives of all backgrounds and all disciplines have a platform to share their art, particularly those from groups that are underrepresented in the arts. They welcome performers of all skill levels, so it’s a great place for you to start your creative journey, or build your current audience! Please aim to keep your performance to between 5 and 10 minutes long so that everybody has a chance to showcase their art on the night. While the organisers do our best to fit everybody in, this is a very popular event, so they can't guarantee slots on the night.
If you're new to the space and you require specialist equipment, you are encouraged to pop in and see the organisers before the event, so that they can make sure they're able to accommodate your performance.
Recommended donation of £5 to Utopia's charity.
Doors open 5:30pm, 6pm start.
