Sheffield Pattern Club is a local collective of pattern enthusiasts – exploring patterns in craft, technology, music and performing arts. They put on live gigs as well as hands-on workshops. In December they'll be bringing a diverse evening of top pattern-based music performances to Theatre Deli's cosy bar. Featuring:
Leafcutter John – see our interview with John for background on his career as influential electronic musician and instrument builder. His hands-on approach to making lovely music and sounds with his own strange interfaces and software are bound to bring something great to the pattern club theme.
Tante Verte, a brand new collaboration between locals Robyn Haddon, DS and Eye Measure, bringing live vocals, live electronics and live code respectively.
Peter K Rollings and his Experimental Sonic Machines is a post-punk sci-fi mechanical musician from the future. The four minute documentary on Peter’s work will hopefully go some way towards knowing what to expect.
Epiploke are pattern club resident algoravers Heavy Lifting and Yaxu, collaborating on shifting, handmade, from-scratch live coded dance music. We also have interviews with them in our Meet the Locals series, under their other names Lucy Cheesman and Alex McLean.
