Strange Britain presents the Sheffield Showcase Ghost Walk. Join them on Sheffield Showcase weekend as they host a special event on Friday 1 September and again on Saturday 2 September, both at 8pm.
This walk will be a showcase of the very best stories that the city has to offer. There’s going to be weird history, tales of UFOs, along with the ghost stories we’ve all come to love. All the stories are told with a Henderson's Relish sized dollop of humour by storyteller Adrian Finney.
It’ll be an evening packed full of great stories, including the unlikely origin of a very Sheffield swear word. On top of that, you'll also hear how the city has a surprisingly recent connection to one of the most infamous characters in English folklore, and the tale of Sheffield’s royal ghost. You'll also take in the sight of an old autopsy theatre and a former plague pit.
This city centre walk is a circular route, starting and ending on Tudor Square at the side of the Central Library. It's about a mile long and is fully wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible, lasting about 90–100 minutes.
Advance adult tickets (ages 14+) are £7.50. Tickets for under 14s are available as add-ons at check out, at £5 each. Booking fees may apply.
You’re also able to join and pay on the night. On the night, tickets are £10 each for adults and £6 for kids. Contactless payments accepted.
There will be talks of violent deaths, historical suicides, scary ghosts, and even the origin of a certain cheeky swear word, so please book at your own discretion.
