After decades of use, a major apartment complex in eastern Seoul, one of the largest in the city, is soon to be demolished.
The residents wanted new homes and left without hesitation when the reconstruction plan to live in newer, better apartments was passed. But the huge, almost abandoned complex remained the home for a thriving community of stray cats.
Concerned citizens, worried about the cats that remain there, gather together and seek ways to keep them happy in their temporary domain, all the while knowing that their home would soon be stripped down upon the arrival of major construction crews.
This documentary from renowned filmmaker Jeong Jaeeun is a thoughtful and careful observation on cats as equal partners in society, emphasising the roles that we all play – animal and human – in the world around us.
