Trish Clowes and Ross Stanley bring their thought provoking music and distinctive interplay to Firth Hall.
They have been developing their repertoire and crafting their unique sound over a number of years, built around a diverse range of music – their own material, arrangements from jazz, folk and church organ traditions and free improvisations. The duo’s performances often include music by Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, as well as original compositions, two of which are dedicated to Clowes and Stanley’s respective heroes, Wayne Shorter and John Taylor.
Their new album, Journey to Where, will be released on March 24 2024, International Women’s Day, as a wide-ranging celebration of women in music as both composers and performers.
