Sheffield FridayNightRide is a social cycling happening that, since 2008, has brought cyclists of a range of abilities together with its joyful motto: “We have nothing to lose but our chains”.
Each route is inspired by a different theme – this time, it’s Sheffield Modern and the ride will take in not only iconic sites but the unsung sights; the ordinary as well as the celebrated. Mick Nott will lead riders on a route designed to take a critical view on how urban space, transport and accessibility have been affected by modernism and its subsequent development (or corruption?).
After a short introduction the ride will go to the University via obvious and imperceptible modernism.
For more information on the theme and route see the Sheffield FridayNightRide website.
Meet at South Street Kitchen, Park Hill, S2 5QX in good time for a prompt start at 6:30pm.
The ride will end by 7:30pm at the Arts Tower in time for the concert, Sheffield Modern: In C (ticketed separately).
